Orientation

New scholars and their parents or legal guardians are invited to join us for orientation on Monday, August 12th 2024 - 1:00-3:00 pm.

• Scholars should plan on wearing their uniform for orientation. Your ID pictures will be taken during that time.
• Any scholar who will be entering CCSMS for the first time in grades 6-12 is invited to join us for orientation.
• The program begins at 1:00 pm - everyone meets in the gym. 6th-grade scholars will be divided into their Crew class and be escorted by teachers to their classrooms. The scholars will then follow a shortened schedule of core classes, be introduced to our school and classroom expectations, and have an opportunity to meet new classmates.
• 7th and 8th-grade scholars will be grouped by grade level and meet with their grade-level core teachers and complete a tour of the school with those teachers to be introduced to CCSMS expectations and have an opportunity to meet classmates.
• 9th-grade scholars will be grouped together and work with their Crew teachers to learn about CCSMS expectations, tour the school, and have an opportunity to meet classmates.
• 10th-12th grade will be grouped by grade level and have an opportunity to tour each room on their class schedule and meet teachers. They will review CCSMS expectations and have a chance to meet new classmates.
• Parents/guardians will participate in the family orientation presentation in the gym. We will discuss expectations at CCSMS and information important for families. There will be opportunities ask questions to the administrative team and staff available to assist with bus transportation and to complete registration requirements.
